TCU: Google Workspace - Cyber-Security Tips

Cyber Security & Email Protection

  • Be Alert to Suspicious Emails Watch for unexpected messages, urgent requests, strange links, or attachments, even if they appear to come from a colleague, student, or vendor. When in doubt, don’t click and report it.
  • Protect Your Login Information Never share passwords. Use strong, unique passwords and always approve multi-factor authentication requests only when you are actively logging in.
  • Handle Links and Attachments Safely Do not open attachments or click links unless you trust the sender and are expecting the message. Be especially cautious with emails asking you to “verify,” “reset,” or “update” information.
  • Use School Systems and Devices Responsibly Access school systems only on approved devices, keep software updated, and avoid using personal email or cloud storage for school data unless approved.
  • Report Security Concerns Immediately If you receive a suspicious email or think your account may be compromised, report it to IT right away. Prompt reporting helps protect students, staff, and school operations.
