General Announcements:

 

 

8th Graders to the High School: On Friday, May 18th, all 8th grade students from across the district will get a warm welcome to the high school. Students will get the opportunity to meet school staff, as well as tour the building guided by student leaders.

Furthermore, all 8th grade students will eat lunch together, and get familiar with the high school lunchroom process. In addition, students will spend time at the Montgomery K-8 building for group activities.  

 

Pick your favorite school lunch: Surveys were emailed to all students so they could vote on their favorite school lunch.  The top 5 choices will be on the Menu May 14th- 18th.

 

April will be the last day for the after-school homework program.

 

End of the Year Celebration: We are requesting donations for the end of the year celebration on Friday, May 25th.  Yellow sheets describing the celebration and giving ideas of items to donate were sent home with your student.  Please consider donating so we can treat the students to some wonderful prizes. Donations are due in the office by May 9th.  

Cinco de Mayo: Come and join us at TCU- Le Center K-8 School on, Friday, May 4th at 3:30 PM in the Commons for food, dancing, and fun! All students and families from across the district and communities are welcome to attend. There will be dancers performing from a local Azteca Group and a local Czech Heritage Group, as well! All people and cultures are welcome to enjoy and to be celebrated! Food will be served at 5pm. All are welcome to eat and enjoy the festivities!

The MN Department of Human Services has launched  the Crisis Text Line.  The Crisis Text Line offers text-based suicide prevention services across Minnesota.  People who text MN to 741741 will be connected with a counselor who will help defuse the crisis and connect the texter to local resources.  This line is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Flyers have been hung throughout the school.

 

TCU Spring Dance for 6th - 8th Grade: Friday, May 4th; 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.  Le Center Elementary Gym & Commons Area; Admission $5.00.  Pop and water will be for sale at teh concession stand. Formal dress is optional.

 

Annual TCU Chess Tournament-Gr. K-8  All TCU students welcomed to participate.  This will be a bracket style, single elimination tournament .  All levels and grade will play against each other. Saturday, May 19 at the Le Center American Legion. $5.  Email Mr. Scott at for details or questions.

 

Library Checkouts: April is the last month that students will be able to check books out.  If you have any books at home that need to be returned, please send them back to school as soon as possible.  Thank you.

 

TCU Lonsdale Carnival & Silent Auction: Friday, April 27, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.  All are welcome to join in the fun. The following will be available during the event: Silent Auction, Raffles, Food & Games, Bounce Houses, and Jail a Buddy.

 

K-4th Grade Grandparents Day: Friday, May 18; Join us in the Auditorium for the Concert from 1:00 - 1:45 p.m., then  in the commons for Cookies & Artwork viewing from 1:45 - 2:30 p.m. All are welcome.

Summer Musical:  The Lion King Jr. : Join Simba, Nala, Pumbaa and Timon as they work together to remove Scar and the Hyena's from the Pride Lands.  Come be a part of this fabulous show with great music and lots of fun! Auditions are Tuesday May 1st from 3-5 at the Montgomery Middle School Choir Room.  Everyone gets a part. Register through Community Ed.
