New General Announcements
Quarter 3 midterm is TODAY, Friday, Feb. 16th.  
NO SCHOOL on Monday, Feb 19th to honor President's Day. 
A rep from the Marines will be in the commons TODAY during lunch. 
Next week is National FFA Week!  In honor of National FFA week, the TCU FFA will be sponsoring several events and activities, including dress up days. Show your support of TCU FFA and its members.

Tuesday: 2/20

                : Battle of the tractors. John Deere (green) vs. Case/IH (red). Choose your favorite and say it with a color.

Wednesday: 2/21

                : Dress-up. Country Day. Cowgirl, Cowboy or farmer day. Let your country out.

Thursday: 2/22

                : Dress-up. FFA’s official colors are National Blue and Corn Gold. Show us your favorite blue and yellow apparel.

Friday: 2/23

                : Dress-up. Flannel Friday/Camo Day. Show us how you really feel on a Friday morning

Congratulations to the wrestling team on their big section tournament win last night over Watertown-Mayer.  The wrestlers will take on Scott West at 4pm on Saturday at TCU in the Section 2AA semifinals.  Best of luck guys! 
Attention Track Athletes: There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday Feb. 20th in Mr. Fogal's room during Titan Time. Both Coach Fogal and Nordling will be there. If you can not make it, please tell Mr. Fogal prior to the meeting. 
Active Minds Half Sheets:  Are located on the counters in the Counseling & HS Offices.  Feel free to pick one up, fill it out, & drop it back off if you would like a TCU HS school counselor to connect with you.  Or just stop into the Counseling Office & set up an appointment with your counselor.

Repeat Announcements:
NHS is sponsoring a food drive from Feb. 7- Feb. 16.  Boxes will be located in each advisor's room. Thanks for helping to support your local food shelves. 
The TCU FFA Area Alumni is having their 1st Annual Pancake Breakfast Sunday February 25th, at the Montgomery Legion from 8 am to 12 pm.   

Titans Fastpitch Association 2018 Summer Softball:

2018 Summer Softball registration is now open!  Players in graded 2nd – 11th can participate in the traveling softball program.  Registration is open until February 21st, with tryouts for 10U, 12U & 14U being help on Friday, February 23 and Saturday, February 24th.  All registrations must be done on our website at .  If you would like the parents meeting information emailed to you, or have any question, please contact us at and we will get it to you.  Thank you!

W.E. Team will be collecting gently used books of all kinds from February 1st - February 28th. All books will go to a non-profit organization called Books for Africa and can be placed in the large box located in the office/ cafeteria area.
Participating will help "end the book famine for Africa" for all ages. We are calling the event "W.E. Turn the Page on Education". 
Activities Announcements:
Monday, February 19th  Boys Basketball vs. Maple River C squad starts at 6pm at the Monty Middle School, B Squad starts at 6pm in the HS gym and Varsity starts at 7:30 in the HS gym.  Best of luck! 
Friday, February 16th - Boys JV & Varsity Hockey vs. Luverne  JV will play at 5:30pm and Varsity at 7pm at the Le Sueur Community Center.   Good luck!
Friday, February 16th - Knowledge Bowl  Competition at Cleveland HS. Bus leaves the HS @ 7:30 AM.  Best of luck!

Counseling/Career Announcements:
Information and/or applications for the following Scholarships/opportunities are available in the counseling office.
Any junior interested in attending Girls State or Boys State should talk to Mrs. Turek in the counseling office by Friday, February 16th. 
Steele-Waseca Cooperative Electric is taking applications for the 2018 Youth Tour to Washington, D.C.  To apply you must be a sophomore or junior, and parents/guardians must be members of the Steele-Waseca Cooperative. Applications are  due by February 16th.
The Minnesota School Counselors Association is sponsoring a $500 scholarship for seniors.  Applications are available in the counseling office and due on March 1. 
Mediacom is offering several $1000 scholarships to seniors who live in areas served by Mediacom. Must be postmarked by February 16th.
Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative is offering 18 - $1000 scholarships to seniors whose parents/guardians are active members of MVEC. These scholarships will be randomly drawn.  Deadline is February 19th
The Lonsdale Lions Club is sponsoring a scholarship for seniors who have a current Lonsdale address. Deadline is April 2nd.
Montgomery Sons of the American Legion Scholarship information is available in the counseling office. Applications must be received by April 21, 2018.
